Andover Central’s Cooper Carmin has been one of the biggest team leaders for the Jaguar soccer team, and he doesn’t plan to stop now. Carmin always put his game first, and has put in the time to grow as an athlete.
“Lots of hard work has been put in throughout the summer and now that our season is finally here and we are playing well, it makes all the hard work worth it because we are getting recognized,” Carmin said.
Training and conditioning started early for Carmin, but practices never felt like work, and more like enjoyable team bonding.
“To prepare for the season, we practiced three mornings of the week during the summer as a team, and also most nights on the side the team went out to the fields to kick it around and have fun,” Carmin said. “A weakness everyone had that we could all fix together is fitness. We have worked really hard on it and we are all doing great now.”
Hoping to always grow as a player and athlete, Carmin’s biggest goal for the year is to take his team all the way.
“As a team, I really want to make it to state,” Carmin said. “We have the team to do it, but now we just have to work for it.”
The first team all-league player wants to continue to play soccer, and Carmin will be more than satisfied no matter where he ends up.
“My plans after high school are to go play college soccer somewhere,” Carmin said. “I haven’t really narrowed it down yet, but I’m keeping my options open and I know I’ll be happy wherever I end up.”
