Collin Sheeran was an honorable mention linebacker last season for Andover Central, and this year, Sheeran expects nothing less from himself and his team.
“For our team this season is not as much about stats, or X’s and O’s,” Sheeran said. “While we aspire to achieve victory every time we step on the field, we are much more intentional about the process of getting better each and every day. Our team has had the opportunity to learn through some difficult losses and we make a conscious effort to not repeat previous mistakes.”
Being a senior, Sheeran has loved getting to grow as an athlete and as a person. Sheeran thanks the most important part of a team, his coaches.
“This season we have witnessed my coaches express their love and gratitude for the game to our guys,” Sheeran said. “They’ve really given us so much to look up to in the game and in life.”
Besides the busy fall season with football every week, Sheeran also gets to show a part of him throughout the entire year.
“Outside of football I relish the opportunity to be a part of a youth group called YoungLife where I continue to grow in my faith with the like-minded people around me,” Sheeran said. “We love to challenge each other and strive to not only be better people but recognize our thoughts and surrender our lives to the King of Kings.”
While football may not be in the future, after high school Sheeran has aspirations to continue his education.
“I think at the conclusion of my high school career I plan on attending Kansas State University and acquiring an undergraduate degree before moving on to Med School,” Sheeran said. “I would ultimately like to become an anesthesiologist.”
