9 Questions with Rose Hill’s Jace Beery – Presented by Advanced Physical Therapy

By Ken Hansard

Recently, VYPE had the privilege to talk to and find out more about Rose Hill High School senior / graduate and athlete Jace Beery.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

Beery:  After having knee surgery, I was hoping to come back to play my three sports. I also wanted to be able to decide on college for the upcoming year.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

Beery:  Being able to spend time with my friends during sports and my senior year.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?

Beery:  I would have to go with Mr. Browning because he would always push me to be a better person. He would keep me on track and help me with anything.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

Beery:  My favorite memory was going to state for soccer my freshman year and then going to state my senior year for baseball.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Beery:   My friend Scotty Carr has been one of my biggest competitors, in a good way. We have played most of the sports together and we both push each other to get better every day.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

Beery:  Being able to sit behind leaders on the team and learn from them and then one day having the responsibility to take that role and help the underclassmen out.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?

Beery:  I would probably choose Hawaii. I’m not much of a traveler, but being able to take Dawson McNaul would be a fun trip.

VYPE: If we gave you $5000 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, how would you spend it?

Beery:  Honestly, it would all go to college to help pay for that and other expenses. I might save a little to take my family out to dinner.

VYPE:  What other sports, activities, or community service projects do you participate in, and how have these helped to prepare you for the future?

Beery:  Throughout high school, I participated in soccer, basketball, and baseball. I have also been a part of the Student Council.  STUCO did many activities and lots of volunteer work – like community service day. I have also been a part of a group called Youth Butler Leadership.
