Recently, VYPE had the privilege to talk to and find out more about Rose Hill High School recent graduate and athlete Ryelle Woods.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
Woods: This year I plan on beginning my college education at Butler Community College. Some other goals are developing a strong gym routine and getting a part-time job. I also would like to get my real estate license at some point this year.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
Woods: Definitely the time spent with my friends and teammates during sports and out of school activities.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
Woods: My favorite teacher is my high school foods teacher, Becki Evans.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Woods: My favorite athletic memory is going to state in track two years in a row for the 4 x 400.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Woods: My teammate Lexi Wooten always pushes herself to be the best she can be and is one of my best friends. She inspires me with her work ethic and values every day.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
Woods: I really just love the people. I’ve met so many of my closest friends through Rose Hill track, and they have all impacted me in such positive ways.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
Woods: I would probably pick Italy. It seems so pretty there, and I would take my best friends, Eden and Ciera, and also my sister, Aria.
VYPE: If we gave you $5000 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, how would you spend it?
Woods: I would probably use the money to buy a new car for myself. My sister needs a car for high school, so getting a new one for myself would allow her to use my old one and would be extremely convenient for our family.
VYPE: What other sports, activities, or community service projects do you participate in, and how have these helped to prepare you for the future?
Woods: I have been playing volleyball for eight years, and it was my main sport these past years. I also take piano lessons and volunteer at my church. All of these extracurricular activities have allowed me to meet new people and have taught me many life lessons which will better prepare me for my future.
